Romanian-American Conservatives Association launched; Romania to host first US Congress exchange program

Dan Dungaciu, the first‑vice president of Romania's AUR party, announced the creation of the Romanian‑American Conservatives Association (RACA). The new NGO and foundation is based in Washington, close to the U.S. Congress, and aims to unite Romanians and Romanian‑origin Americans involved in politics, map the diaspora community, and engage with Republican candidates, especially in swing states. Dungaciu criticised the Romanian state for not leveraging the diaspora over the past three decades and said a tour of U.S. Romanian communities is planned for August.

Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu revealed that Romania will host the inaugural Romania–United States Exchange Program, bringing a delegation of U.S. congressional advisers and American think‑tank representatives to the country. The program will discuss security, economic cooperation, NATO commitments, investment, and counter‑terrorism, following meetings with senators and representatives from both parties. Țoiu highlighted the bipartisan support the United States provides to Romania and outlined future steps for deeper bilateral collaboration.
