Romanian and Moldovan men detained in sibling violence cases

In Adjud, Romania, police acted on a 29‑year‑old woman's report that her 25‑year‑old brother had threatened her. A provisional protection order was issued, requiring the brother to wear an electronic monitoring device. After he allegedly disregarded the order, a court ordered his detention for 24 hours on 9 July 2026 for violating the protection measures.

In Chișinău, Moldova, a 63‑year‑old man was placed in pre‑trial detention for 30 days after police said he assaulted and stole from his sister during a visit. The suspect remains under investigation.

Both cases involve men accused of violence against their sisters and subsequent legal detention.
