Romanian authorities close key roads in Cluj and on A10 autostrada for safety and construction

The Cluj-Napoca City Hall announced that Louis Pasteur Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 22:00 on Friday, 10 July, until 08:00 on Sunday, 12 July. The restriction enables the hospital to complete underground power‑line work for a new vascular and neurosurgery centre at 5 Louis Pasteur Street. Drivers are advised to use three alternative routes through the Zorilor district to reach the city centre.

Separately, the Romanian National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) closed the north‑bound carriageway of the A10 motorway between the Unirea and Turda interchanges after an active landslide was detected at kilometre 66+300. Traffic is diverted onto DN1, adding roughly five kilometres to the journey. CNAIR director Cristian Pistol said the decision was based solely on safety, rejecting options that would route traffic on the opposite carriageway due to the same unstable geological formation. Repairs will be funded by the contract builder, and the motorway will reopen once geotechnical reports confirm stability.
