Romania police conduct widespread enforcement and safety operations
Romanian authorities conducted a series of law enforcement operations across multiple counties, focusing on road safety, illegal logging, and human trafficking prevention.
In Cluj, police used a helicopter to monitor DN1, resulting in four drivers losing their licenses for illegal overtaking within ten minutes. Other regional enforcement included significant fines in Dâmbovița and Olt, where hundreds of sanctions were issued for various traffic violations. In Brașov, a 29-year-old driver without a license overturned his vehicle while intoxicated.
In Argeș, police seized over two cubic meters of illegally transported oak wood. Border police in Timiș also intercepted a Serbian citizen attempting to cross the border illegally with a forged identity document, and discovered a vehicle wanted by Italian authorities.
Additionally, educational efforts were held at Decebal National College in Deva to raise awareness about human trafficking risks among students. These activities coincided with new legal provisions regarding the protection of minors from sexual abuse materials, including those generated by artificial intelligence.
