Romanian Black Sea coast draws thousands of tourists despite heatwave

Beach resorts along Romania’s Black Sea, especially Mamaia, Eforie and Năvodari, have become packed with visitors as a heatwave pushes temperatures into the red alert zone. Authorities report that more than 80,000 people are expected in the area, with parking lots full and beaches crowded from early morning. Tourists are seeking relief from the extreme heat, while meteorologists warn of very high UV radiation and advise avoiding direct sun between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., using sunscreen and protective clothing. Despite the influx, the counties of Constanța and Tulcea remain outside the red or orange canicula code, keeping beach services open.
