Romanian Black Sea resorts attract over 75,000 visitors in first July weekend
Over 75,000 tourists visited Romania’s Black Sea coast during the first weekend of July, concentrating in the most popular resorts such as Eforie Nord, Venus, Mamaia and Mamaia Nord. Beaches were crowded from early morning; sunbeds in Eforie were rented for 30‑50 lei and in Mamaia for about 60 lei, while a draft beer cost 4‑5 lei. Sea temperature reached roughly 25 °C, prompting lifeguards to hoist the yellow flag in some areas, allowing swimming only for experienced swimmers, though no incidents were reported.
The influx boosted local hospitality businesses, with hotel owners and restaurant operators reporting full occupancy and strong sales of cheap beer. After a brief shower, weather improved and forecasts predict continued sunny, warm conditions for the coming week, encouraging further weekend tourism on the Romanian litoral.
