Romanian border police in the Botoșani region reported two separate incidents involving illegal activities at the border.

On October 13, authorities intercepted a 44-year-old man with dual Romanian and Ukrainian citizenship driving a Ukrainian-registered minibus in Mihăileni. Upon inspection, officers discovered 1,510 pairs of slippers valued at 15,100 lei. The driver attempted to use a falsified invoice to justify the cargo, leading to a 4,000 lei fine and an investigation into forgery.

In a separate incident near Manoleasa, border police from the Stânca Sector identified a 24-year-old Moldovan man who had crossed the Prut river illegally. The individual stated his intention was to reach Western Europe. Following the EU-Moldova readmission agreement, the man was transferred to Moldovan authorities.
