Romanian Border Police waive physical criminal‑record certificate for minors traveling abroad

Romanian Border Police announced a change to border‑control procedures for minors travelling out of Romania with an adult. The physical copy of the criminal‑record certificate is no longer required.

Police will verify the certificate electronically at the border checkpoint, part of a broader digitalisation effort to speed up processing and reduce paperwork. All other legal requirements – parental notarised consent, court orders or other documents – remain unchanged, and the rule applies to all border crossing points.
