Romanian cities allocate funds for stadium projects

The Timișoara Local Council has approved an additional 8 million lei for the construction of the Eroii Timișoarei stadium. These funds, sourced from budget reallocations, are intended to continue work on the project, which is expected to be completed by December 4, 2026. The total contract for design and construction is valued at 115.4 million lei, with the new 10,101-seat arena scheduled to host its first official match in February 2027.

In Iași, the city has released a draft decision for the urban zoning plan regarding a proposed 25,000-seat stadium in the Copou area. However, municipal credit records indicate that only 729,333 lei remain of the 76 million lei originally allocated for the new arena. The remaining municipal credit is currently being directed toward other infrastructure projects, including the Multipurpose Hall, Poitiers Boulevard, and Bucium Road.
