Romanian cities move ahead with new parking and redevelopment projects

In Suceava, the demolition of garages at the Cartodrom site cleared the way for a regeneration project that includes a 500‑spot parking facility. The local council will examine a feasibility study for the parking lot, with an estimated investment of 17.8 million lei and a proposed purchase of the former "La Coteț" restaurant for €155,000. Funding will initially come from municipal resources, with additional financing to be sought later.

In Târgu Mureș, a proposal to introduce 175 paid parking spaces on Secuilor Martiri and Constantin Romanu Vivu streets is set for council discussion. The plan aims to add 73 spots on Secuilor Martiri and 102 on Constantin Romanu Vivu, following a favorable opinion from the traffic commission on 30 March 2026. If approved, the measure will require amendments to the city’s parking regulations and will be managed by Administrator Imobile și Piețe SRL under a 2023 concession contract.
