Romanian clubs Metalul Buzău and UTA Arad win preseason friendlies

Metalul Buzău defeated newly promoted CSL Ștefăneștii de Jos 4‑2 in a summer friendly at the Metalul stadium in Buzău, with goals from Geani Crețu, Sebastian Bran, Valentin Robu and Adrian Moldovan. The match, played on 27 June 2026, was the first test for Metalul's upcoming Liga 2 campaign and highlighted several new players in the squad.

On the same weekend, UTA Arad beat second‑division side CSC Dumbrăvița 4‑0 (2‑0) in another preparatory fixture. Scorers were Marius Coman, Marinos Tzionis, Alin Roman and Ismet Sinani. UTA also announced the signing of midfielder Alexi Pitu on a contract for the 2026‑27 season, adding to a list of recent acquisitions.
