Romanian Coast Guard investigates drone fragments found on Mamaia beach

On 5 August, authorities responded to a report of a drone object in the water near the Loft Club area of Mamaia beach, Romania. Police, the Constanța branch of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) and the Romanian Coast Guard secured the site, recovered drone fragments and confirmed that the device contained no explosive material. The beach area was temporarily closed while safety measures were applied.

The Coast Guard has opened an investigation to determine the drone’s origin and the circumstances that led it to land in the Black Sea near the Romanian coast. No further details on the type, size or ownership of the drone have been released, and the inquiry remains ongoing.
