Romanian communes Bradu and Agigea start summer aerial insect control

The mayor of Bradu, Argeș County, Dan Stroe announced that the commune will carry out its first aerial disinfestation of 2026 on 1–2 August. Low‑altitude flights will spray approved chemicals between 06:00 and 09:00 to reduce mosquito and other insect populations. Residents were advised to take precautions, especially beekeepers and those with respiratory sensitivities, as the treatment may affect open‑air food stores and sensitive animals.

In July 2026 the municipality of Agigea, Constanța County, also conducted aerial insecticide treatments in public parks and playgrounds. The operation targeted mosquitoes and ticks, with local officials warning citizens to avoid direct contact with treated surfaces for a few hours and to keep children and pets away. Both communes aim to lessen insect‑related discomfort and improve the safety of outdoor recreation during the summer months.
