Romanian communities celebrate local heritage and traditions
Various Romanian communities held local celebrations to honor their heritage and reunite residents.
Piatra Șoimului celebrated its 19th Community Day on August 16. The event included a thanksgiving service led by local priests to pray for health and prosperity, followed by festivities on a central plateau. Mayor Neculai Nicorescu, currently serving his seventh mandate, addressed the crowd, noting the importance of these gatherings for reconnecting with relatives and friends despite current economic and socio-political challenges.
In Bernadea, the fourth edition of the ‘Sons of the Village’ event took place. This celebration aims to highlight the history, traditions, and personalities of the village. The tradition traces back to a large-scale event in 1986, which drew thousands of participants through organized mobilization and local involvement.
