Romanian companies face increasing polarization over next year

An analysis by TPC Concept suggests that the next 6 to 12 months will see growing polarization among Romanian companies. Well-capitalized firms with sufficient liquidity and controlled costs are positioned to gain market share, while companies burdened by high debt, low profitability, and difficulties in debt recovery face increasing financial risks.

The forecast comes amid slowing economic growth, with the National Commission for Strategy and Prognosis (CNSP) estimating economic growth for 2026 at just 0.1%. Additionally, Coface data indicates that insolvencies rose by 12% in the first half of the year. TPC Concept reports that six out of ten companies in Romania exhibit at least two vulnerabilities affecting liquidity and development, particularly in the trade, construction, transport, and manufacturing sectors.
