Romanian companies report varied financial results
Sonimpex Topoloveni, the producer of the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Topoloveni jam, reported net business of nearly 7 million lei in 2025, a nearly 10% increase from 2024. The company's net profit reached approximately 64,000 lei, which is over 18 times higher than the previous year, though profit margins remain low. The firm employs an average of 25 people and holds total debts of nearly 9 million lei.
Separately, Ursus Breweries, Romania's largest beer producer, has decided to distribute dividends exceeding 105 million euro (528 million lei) from its accumulated net profit. The company, owned by the Japanese Asahi Group, reported a total net profit of 639 million lei through the end of 2025. In 2025, Ursus Breweries recorded a turnover of 2.8 billion lei, a 1% increase from the previous year, despite a 4% decline in overall beer consumption in the country.
