Romanian court cases involve traffic assault and decade-old robbery
The Constanța Court of Appeal has scheduled an appeal for December 3, 2026, regarding a traffic harassment and assault case. The incident occurred on December 19, 2022, when a driver, A.G.V., who was operating a Volkswagen Passat without a valid driver's license, engaged in aggressive driving maneuvers on DJ 228 and DN 22C. The aggressor reportedly blocked another vehicle and physically assaulted the driver, striking them in the eye with a fist and a blunt object. Medical examinations determined the victim required 7-8 days of medical care.
In a separate legal development, the Carei Court has ordered four men to pay damages following a robbery that took place 12 years ago in Nadișu Hododului, Satu Mare County. The theft occurred on October 4, 2014, while the homeowner was attending a local festival. The perpetrators stole approximately 70,000 lei, 6,000 euros, 7,000 Hungarian forints, and gold jewelry. Although the criminal proceedings had ceased due to the statute of limitations, the court has ruled on civil compensation for the damages caused.
