Romanian defender Andrei Coubiș signs five‑year deal with Lincoln City

Twenty‑two‑year‑old Romanian centre‑back Andrei Coubiș completed a €3 million transfer from Universitatea Cluj to English Championship side Lincoln City. The move was announced on 30 July 2026, and Coubiș signed a contract lasting until 30 June 2031.

In his introductory video, Coubiș expressed excitement, saying, “I chose Lincoln City. After the presentation they gave me, I told my agent I have to run there!” He described himself as a physical, aggressive and fast defender who looks forward to meeting his new teammates, the coaching staff and the club’s supporters. Coubiș, a product of the AC Milan academy, has already earned three caps for the Romania national team.
