Timiș County admits 11 Olympian students directly to preferred high schools

The County Admission Committee approved direct admission for eleven eighth‑grade students from Timiș who earned top prizes at national or international olympiads and sport competitions. Seven of the students, all from the Banatul Sports High School in Timișoara, received the first‑place award at the ONSȘ Football Cup and were placed in the sports‑instructor profile. The remaining four were admitted to specialized high schools based on achievements in Spanish language, mathematics, social education and astronomy. Their placements were made under the legal provision that outstanding performers may be entered directly without occupying a regular allocated seat.

The committee also noted that 113 candidates with special educational needs and 36 Roma‑ethnicity candidates have applied for the reserved slots, with 131 and 140 places allocated respectively. The nationwide computerised allocation for all other applicants is scheduled for 16 July.
