Romanian water supplies halted in several regions for maintenance

Romanian water utilities are implementing temporary supply cuts across multiple zones. RAJA SA will suspend potable water for 12 hours in the Industrială Midia Năvodari, Rafinare Rompetrol and Corbu de Jos areas from 19:00 on 1 July 2026 until 07:00 on 2 July 2026 to connect new 800 mm mains sections. Aquabis Bistrița announced scheduled outages on 29 June 2026 affecting parts of Bistrița, Măluț, Braniștea, Maieru and Subcetate for repairs. In Șeica Mare, Apa Târnavei Mari halted service from 13:00 on 29 June 2026 because reservoir levels fell below safe limits, with limited emergency distribution points provided. Hydro Prahova introduced a temporary rationing program in the communes of Ciorani and Fântânele (and later reported issues in Mănești and Păcureți) from 29 June to 3 July 2026, limiting water delivery to short daily windows due to high summer consumption and low reservoir stocks. All operators have urged residents to conserve water and use it only for essential household purposes until normal service resumes.
