Romanian FA grants FK Csíkszereda stadium exemption for 2026‑27 season

The Romanian Football Federation’s emergency committee amended competition regulations to permit FK Csíkszereda to host its home matches despite the club’s stadium holding only 2,500 spectators, below the 4,500‑seat requirement for top‑flight games. The amendment adds a clause allowing a further season‑long grace period in justified cases. After the club’s appeal, the committee – chaired by Răzvan Burleanu with vice‑chairs Gino Iorgulescu and Cristian Petrean – approved the change, meaning FK Csíkszereda can remain at its own arena for the 2026‑27 SuperLiga campaign. Earlier reports indicated the Professional Football League might not certify the venue, which could have forced the team to relocate to Sepsi Dunărea stadium in Sfântu Gheorghe, but the new rule averts that move.
