Romanian firefighters conduct safety education for children

Firefighters in Romania are conducting interactive safety education sessions for children at various summer camps. In Botoșani, rescuers visited a camp organized by the ‘Izvorul Tămăduirii’ Parish to teach children how to respond to emergencies such as fires, floods, earthquakes, and unexploded ammunition.

During these sessions, children learned essential fire safety protocols, including how to call 112, how to move low to the ground to avoid smoke, and the importance of not returning to buildings for belongings. They were also instructed on flood safety, specifically the dangers of crossing flooded roads and following RO-ALERT messages.

Similarly, in Vrancea, the ‘Anghel Saligny’ Inspectorate for Emergency Situations engaged with children at the ‘Pe ulița copilăriei’ summer school and an ARC camp for children with disabilities. These interactive meetings allowed children to explore firefighting equipment and vehicles while learning how to recognize community hazards and follow instructions from emergency responders.
