Romanian firefighters honored during national day ceremonies

In celebration of Romanian Firefighters' Day, emergency services in Bistrița-Năsăud and Alba organized ceremonies to honor personnel and volunteers for their service and bravery.

In Bistrița-Năsăud, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) held a military ceremony attended by local authorities and international guests, including General Josef Krenn from the Styria Regional Fire Brigade in Austria. The event included a religious service, the blessing of a new unit garage, and the promotion of five military officers for outstanding performance. The presence of the Austrian delegation underscored ongoing cooperation between the two regions.

In Alba, merit diplomas were awarded to firefighters and volunteers at the Principia Museum. Recognition was given for courageous actions both domestically and abroad. Specifically, ISU Alba personnel were honored for their participation in the European Civil Protection Mechanism, where they worked alongside French counterparts to combat devastating wildfires in Southern Europe under extreme weather conditions.
