Romanian FM Oana Țoiu Stresses US Partnership Ahead of Leaders Summit

Interim foreign minister Oana Țoiu spoke on 20 July about Romania's relationship with the United States and an upcoming meeting between Romanian President Nicușor Dan and former U.S. President Donald Trump. She highlighted plans for regular high‑level contacts, citing meetings every three to four months with the U.S. State Department, congressional committees and bipartisan support.

Țoiu also addressed domestic topics such as the appointment of new ambassadors, the government's current agenda and a newly adopted salary law. On foreign policy she referred to the war in the Middle East and the recent arrest of Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami, noting these issues within the broader strategic partnership framework. She emphasized opportunities for U.S. investment in Romania's defence and IT sectors and the promotion of Romanian entrepreneurship abroad.
