Romanian Folk Singer Valentina Ionescu Șerban and Singer Victoria Lungu Face Family Tragedies

Valentina Ionescu Șerban, a Romanian folk music soloist, mourned the death of her father Ion (also known as Nelu), who passed away on 12 February at age 82. In the weeks before his six‑month memorial, she travelled to Istanbul, visiting historic sites such as Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar, describing the trip as a way to cope with her grief.

Separately, Romanian singer Victoria Lungu, who recently survived a serious accident, publicly complained that her daughter, influencer Valerie Lungu, left her alone during the crisis to take part in a popular reality show. The incident highlighted the family’s strain following the mother’s accident.
