Leo Grozavu appointed Chindia manager as Daniel Oprița stays at Steaua

Leo Grozavu has agreed to become the new manager of Chindia Târgoviște, signing a contract for the current season with an automatic one-year extension if he achieves promotion to the first division. Grozavu replaces Nicolae Croitoru following a recent defeat against CS Dinamo. He takes over after Chindia's previous target, Daniel Oprița, declined the position to remain at Steaua.

At Steaua, Daniel Oprița has decided to continue his tenure despite interest from Chindia. This decision follows comments from Eugen Trică, who expressed a strong desire to coach the historic club, though he later claimed his intense remarks were a joke. Former coach Victor Pițurcă has advised against Trică seeking the role at this time, describing the current situation at Steaua as ‘extremely dangerous’ and emphasizing the importance of stability under Oprița.
