Romanian Football Federation bans spectators and children from Romania-Bosnia match

The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has announced that the upcoming Nations League match between Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for September 28, 2026, at Arena Națională, will be played behind closed doors. This decision follows a UEFA sanction stemming from incidents during a 2024 match against Kosovo.

In a departure from previous matches against Norway and Andorra, where children from football academies were permitted to attend, the FRF has ruled that even children will be barred from the stadium. The federation cited logistical challenges, safety concerns, and the principle of equality, stating it could not justify limiting access to children only from Bucharest and surrounding areas when interest exists nationwide.

The match marks the first official home game under the new mandate of Gheorghe Hagi.
