Romanian Football League partners with Roma Party to fight racism

The Professional Football League (LPF) of Romania and the Pro-Europe Roma Party Association have signed a collaboration protocol to combat racism, xenophobia, and discrimination in football stadiums.

The agreement follows an increase in racist and anti-Roma incidents and hate speech within Romanian football. The partnership aims to prevent discriminatory manifestations in stadiums and surrounding areas while promoting social inclusion for the Roma minority and other vulnerable groups through sports.

Key objectives include launching joint awareness campaigns for fans, clubs, and players, conducting educational activities, and broadcasting public interest messages during competitions. The protocol also focuses on involving youth in inclusive sports activities and helping clubs manage and prevent discriminatory incidents by sharing best practices. The agreement is set for an initial one-year period with the possibility of extension.
