Romania medical facilities undergo widespread upgrades and investments
Various medical facilities across Romania are undergoing significant upgrades through new equipment, infrastructure rehabilitation, and administrative changes.
In Drobeta-Turnu Severin, the County Emergency Hospital has inaugurated a new high-performance MRI machine equipped with artificial intelligence. The investment, valued at approximately 9.2 million lei, was 90% funded by the Ministry of Health.
In Constanța, the County Emergency Clinical Hospital has taken over imaging services (MRI and CT) from a private provider. Local officials state this move aims to reduce patient waiting times and lower hospital costs.
Other regional developments include the rehabilitation of the food block at Slatina Hospital, the introduction of 2D and 3D mammography in Târnăveni, and ongoing construction works at the Craiova Regional Emergency Hospital. Additionally, the site for a new County Emergency Hospital in Neamț has been handed over for construction, and Târgu Jiu is set to receive nearly 1.2 million euros for medical system investments.
