Romanian Labor Minister Dragoș Pîslaru sacks ANPDPD head over scandal
Interim Labor Minister Dragoș Pîslaru announced the dismissal of Alexandra Zară as president of the National Authority for Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (ANPDPD). Pîslaru said Zară, a 26‑year‑old with no relevant professional experience, was appointed for political reasons and was linked to illegal nursing homes in Bihor. He replaced her with Ana Rădulescu, a career professional with more than 30 years in the field and no party affiliation. Pîslaru accused the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of false attacks and called Zară a “sinecurist” tied to the AUR party through her father, councilor Ovidiu Zară.
