Romanian libraries host educational reading events for children

Various regional libraries in Romania are conducting educational programs to encourage reading among young children.

In Baia Mare, the ‘Petre Dulfu’ County Library held activities as part of the ‘School Differently’ week. Students from the Step by Step Kindergarten, ‘George Coșbuc’ Gymnasium, and ‘Nicolae Iorga’ Gymnasium participated in sessions exploring diverse book collections and meeting storybook characters. The library is also hosting themed exhibitions throughout October to mark international days such as World Music Day and World Animal Day.

In Târgoviște, the Dâmbovița County Library organized an event for children at the ‘Alexandrina Simionescu Ghica’ Kindergarten under the ‘With a Book for the Little Ones’ project. The session included interactive games, such as identifying missing storybook characters, and a reading of ‘The Hat Seller and the Monkeys’ to stimulate imagination and vocabulary development.
