Romanian sports leagues begin 2026-2027 competitive seasons
Various Romanian sports leagues have commenced their 2026-2027 seasons across football, handball, and basketball.
In Liga 2 football, CSM Reșița and Concordia Chiajna secured victories to climb the standings, while Chindia Târgoviște won following the debut of Leo Grozavu as coach. FC Bihor achieved its first victory of the season with a 4-0 win against CSL Ștefănești.
In Liga 3, Félixfürdői Lotus won its opening match, while Transilvania Sport Academy suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat. Other regional leagues, including Liga 4 in Argeș and Brașov, have also started their campaigns.
In handball, CS Minaur Baia Mare approved new ticket and subscription prices for the upcoming season. The club also secured an away friendly victory against Ferencváros Budapesta with a score of 33-30.
In basketball, the Romanian champion U-BT Cluj-Napoca began its pre-season with friendly matches against CS Vâlcea 1924.
