Romanian local authorities spend over €2 million on festivals and decorations
Public institutions in Romania have spent more than two million euros since the beginning of the year to contract national and international artists for local events. These expenditures, used to celebrate city and commune anniversaries through concerts and shows, have been conducted without public tenders or competitive bidding processes.
In addition to artistic services, local administrations have also allocated significant funds for festive winter lighting, including garlands and ornaments. Reports indicate that many of these purchases were made through direct attribution, sometimes involving the fragmentation of contracts to avoid the requirement for open tenders. A substantial portion of these budgets is also dedicated to the assembly and disassembly services for these installations.
