Romanian Man Detained in Germany with 600 g of Cocaine

A 47‑year‑old Romanian citizen was arrested after German border officials discovered about 614 grams of cocaine in his luggage at the Kehl‑Europabrücke crossing on 26 July 2026. The suspect had travelled by long‑distance bus from Barcelona to Frankfurt. Federal Police searched his bag and found two packages of the drug, prompting the Offenburg public prosecutor to order his provisional detention. The investigation was handed over to the Stuttgart customs office (Zollfahndungsamt) with its headquarters in Freiburg, and the suspect was presented before a judge who issued a detention order.
