Romanian Metro M3 Extension to Chiajna Accelerated by Thousands‑Signature Petition

More than 6,800 residents of Chiajna signed a petition urging the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Metrorex and local authorities to speed up the extension of Bucharest’s Metro line M3 from Precizie to Chiajna. The petition, submitted by local councilors Orheanu Dragoș, Dordea Claudiu and Vlădău Gabriel, calls for approval of the technical‑economic indicators, identification of financing sources (EU funds, PNRR, state budget), launch of design and construction procedures, and an inter‑institutional meeting to set an implementation calendar. It proposes new stations at Dudu and Militari Residence to address rapid residential growth, overloaded road traffic and deteriorating quality of life in the area.
