Romanian Ministry of Education announces teacher conversion programs for 2026-2027
The Romanian Ministry of Education and Research has released the centralized list of professional conversion programs available for teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. These programs allow teaching staff to complete or change their specializations based on their existing undergraduate degrees.
The list includes 21 higher education institutions across the country. Participating universities include the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, the University of Bucharest, Babeș-Bolyai University, and the University of “Constantin Brâncuși” in Târgu Jiu. Programs cover various fields such as Information Technology, Mathematics, Psychology, Law, English Language and Literature, and Physical Education.
Most programs consist of 120 ECTS credits and are conducted over four semesters. These initiatives are intended for both permanent and substitute teaching staff who hold a bachelor's degree. Current regulations for these conversion programs will remain in effect until July 1, 2027, after which participating universities must undergo external evaluation procedures for accreditation.
