Romanian Ministry of Interior launches campaign on exam‑stress and child wellbeing
Psychologist Bogdana Păcurari explained that Romanian students are most afraid of how their exam results will affect their parents, describing the parents' reaction as a source of shame and anxiety for the children.
The Ministry of Interior responded with the information campaign “Niciun examen nu merită un copil pierdut” (“No exam is worth a lost child”), urging parents, teachers and officials to watch for signs of emotional distress during the National Evaluation and Baccalaureate exams. The ministry provided a brochure with recommendations for preventing risky situations and emphasized that a supportive conversation can make a crucial difference.
Both initiatives aim to reduce the intense pressure many pupils feel and to promote mental‑health awareness in the context of Romania’s national examinations.
