Romanian language education updates for minority students in Romania and Austria

Romania's Ministry of Education postponed the mandatory profile exam of the national Bacalaureat by one day due to a red‑alert heat forecast, allowing minority‑language students to sit the mother‑tongue test on Friday. Nearly 131,000 candidates are registered for the first session, with procedures for prohibited items and accommodations for students with disabilities clearly outlined.

In Austria, the Romanian embassy announced that Romanian language courses for native speakers will continue in the 2025‑2026 school year. The optional classes are offered in primary and secondary schools without grading, and participation is recorded on students' final certificates. Contact details for program coordinators and schedules for classes in Vienna and other cities were provided.
