Graffiti on Transfăgărășan rock sparks police probe

A tourist was filmed spraying graffiti—a heart and the name “Anna”—on a rock at Cota 2000 on the Transfăgărășan mountain road. The video, released by Salvamont Argeș, quickly went viral and drew strong public condemnation, with online comments such as “Anna, ține‑ţi prostul acasă!”. The Argeș County Police and the local Environmental Guard opened a joint investigation. Police later identified the suspect as a 55‑year‑old man from Bucharest and warned he faces a fine of 3,000‑6,000 lei for the vandalism.
