Romanian municipalities launch residential energy renovation projects
Local administrations in Lupeni and Alba Iulia are advancing residential energy rehabilitation projects to improve thermal efficiency and reduce living costs for citizens.
In Lupeni, Mayor Lucian Resmeriță announced the signing of 23 new financing contracts for the modernization and energy efficiency of various apartment blocks. These investments, funded through non-reimbursable European funds, aim to enhance resident comfort and modernize the urban landscape. The projects cover multiple residential complexes across various streets, including Aleea Plopilor, Bulevardul Tudor Vladimirescu, and Aleea Narciselor.
Simultaneously, the Alba Iulia City Hall has launched a tender valued at over 5 million lei (excluding VAT) for the thermal rehabilitation of multi-family residential buildings. The project is divided into two lots targeting apartment blocks built in the 1970s and 1980s. This initiative, supported by a financing agreement with the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center, seeks to decrease energy consumption, lower maintenance bills, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
