Romanian municipalities set September 30 tax deadline

Municipalities in Romania, including Oradea and Bacău, have issued reminders to taxpayers regarding the upcoming deadline for the second installment of local taxes and fees for 2026. The deadline for payment is September 30.

These obligations cover taxes on buildings, land, and vehicles, as well as sanitation fees. Failure to meet the deadline will result in late payment penalties, calculated at a rate of 1% of the unpaid amount for each month or fraction of a month starting from the day following the deadline.

To avoid queues at physical service counters, local administrations recommend using online payment methods. Available options include the official municipal websites, the Ghișeul.ro platform, MobilePay, and SelfPay stations. Many of these digital services allow for commission-free transactions using personal identification numbers or fiscal codes.
