Romanian OAMGMAMR launches 23‑million‑lei intensive‑care training programme

The Romanian Association of Medical and General Management (OAMGMAMR) is leading the "Intensiv+" project, a 23 million‑lei initiative funded by the Ministry of Investments and European Projects. The programme aims to train 916 intensive‑care (ATI) medical assistants to European standards, covering intensive therapy, emergency care and SMURD operations. Curriculum development is overseen by Carmen Mazilu, head of OAMGMAMR’s Bucharest branch, and Viorica Nedelcu, an expert in curriculum design. The project, signed in March 2026, seeks to address a long‑standing need for specialised intensive‑care training in Romania.

The training will combine classroom instruction with simulation labs, preparing participants to respond effectively in real‑world emergencies. By expanding the pool of qualified ATI staff, the initiative is expected to improve critical‑care capacity across Romanian hospitals.
