Romanian opera children's choir auditions performing arts season classical music performances theatrical productions

Several Romanian opera and ballet institutions have announced upcoming programs and recruitment for the 2026-2027 season.

The Opera Națională Română Iași is organizing auditions in September 2026 to select new members for its Children's Choir. The auditions are open to students in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and will include singing the Romanian National Anthem, performing a chosen song, and reciting poetry.

In Constanța, the Oleg Danovski National Opera and Ballet Theater will present a double feature of Italian verismo works, “Cavalleria rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni and “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leoncavallo, on October 18, 2026.

The Opera Comică pentru Copii is launching its new season on September 5, 2026. The schedule includes Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi,” the musical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” and classical ballet productions such as “Swan Lake” and “Hansel and Gretel.” The season also features sensory shows for young children and various outdoor festivals.
