Romanian parents face challenges with technology and child development
In Romania, parents are facing multifaceted challenges regarding child development, ranging from technological overuse to economic constraints and public behavior.
A study conducted by D&D Research for Vodafone Romania reveals that nearly 45% of parents are primarily concerned with their children's education and future. Approximately 30% of respondents fear that excessive screen time promotes sedentary lifestyles, while others worry about uncontrolled online interactions and social isolation. Furthermore, nearly half of the parents surveyed stated that inflation and the current economic situation are limiting their ability to invest in their children's development and extracurricular activities.
On a local level in the Mănăștur neighborhood of Cluj, reports have surfaced regarding the vandalism of public spaces. Residents have expressed shock after witnessing children removing paving stones in a local park. This incident has sparked community debate regarding parental supervision and the responsibility to protect public property, with some residents attributing the damage to poor construction quality and others to a lack of parental oversight.
