Romanian players attract Major League Soccer interest

Several Romanian footballers are attracting interest from Major League Soccer (MLS). Anzor Mekvabishvili, a 25-year-old midfielder from Universitatea Craiova, is set to join Chicago Fire. The clubs have reportedly reached an agreement for a transfer fee of approximately two million euros, depending on performance bonuses. Mekvabishvili, who has recorded 7 goals and 14 assists in 117 matches for Craiova, will join teammate Robert Lewandowski in the United States.

Separately, Dinamo București midfielder Alexandru Musi has received a concrete offer from New York City FC. The MLS club is reportedly willing to pay 1.8 million euros for the 22-year-old, though Dinamo is seeking closer to 3 million euros to facilitate the move. Musi has expressed his current focus on helping Dinamo achieve its objectives and winning trophies before considering a departure to a stronger league.
