Romanian police open investigations into multiple violent crimes in Bistrița and Cluj
On 13 June, police in Bistrița filed a criminal case for family violence after a 46‑year‑old man allegedly assaulted his wife, damaged household items and broke her phone. The same day, authorities issued provisional protection orders against a 24‑year‑old from Gurghiu (Mureș) who threatened his former partner, and a 40‑year‑old from Mureșenii Bârgăului for alcohol‑related assault on his partner. All investigations remain ongoing.
In Cluj, officers executed a search warrant on 13 June at a residence linked to a reported possible rape of a minor. Toxicology results showed the victim had consumed alcohol but no illicit substances were found. The case is being pursued by the Cluj criminal investigations unit under the local prosecutor's office.
