Romanian police promote child safety in summer camps

The Inspectorate of Police in Brașov County, together with the School Safety unit, has continued daily preventive activities for children and teenagers attending camps and recreational areas across the county. The effort is part of the national “A Summer in Safety” campaign and focuses on practical advice such as protecting personal data online, avoiding real‑time location sharing, interacting only with known contacts and using block/stop functions when needed.

Police officers from Dâmbovița County conducted similar sessions at the Ion Heliade Rădulescu County Library, where children received guidance on home, street, online and vacation safety. Topics covered included safeguarding personal belongings, respecting traffic signals, using protective gear on bicycles or scooters, and calling the emergency number 112 only in genuine emergencies. The campaign seeks to lower the risk of victimisation and substance abuse among youths during the summer period.
