Romanian Police teach safety to children in Slatina, seniors in Cugir
On 5 August 2026 police officers from the Olt County Police Department conducted an educational session at Grădinița cu Program Prelungit nr. 1 in Slatina. The activity, part of the national anti‑bullying campaign “When the witness speaks, bullying stops,” taught preschoolers to recognise bullying, practice empathy and report problems, and covered basic road‑safety rules such as using crosswalks, obeying traffic lights and recognising signs.
Later the same day officers in Cugir visited the Lotus senior‑care centre, where about 50 elderly participants received advice on safe behaviour in traffic, especially when using bicycles or tricycles, and on protecting themselves from online and street scams. Police highlighted how to verify information, avoid sharing personal data, and seek help if they suspect fraud or other crimes.
