Romanian political figures linked to luxury private jet travel

Leaked documents from Toyo Aviation have revealed luxury private jet travel involving high-profile Romanian political figures.

Cristian Deliorga, a judge at the Constitutional Court of Romania, confirmed using a private aircraft for a family trip to a private event. When questioned about the source of payment for the flight, which can cost between 30,000 and 70,000 euros, Deliorga declined to provide details, stating, “It does not matter who paid! I was at a private event.”

Separately, records show that Daniel Băluță, the Mayor of Sector 4 and a high-ranking PSD official, traveled on August 1, 2024, from Craiova to Bucharest via a Bombardier Challenger 300 operated by Toyo Aviation. The flight included eight passengers, including members of his family, former deputy Costin Sebastian Moise, and businessman Alin Niculae. As with the Deliorga case, the documents do not specify who covered the costs of the charter flight.
