The organization Foaie Verde din Bucovina issued a statement accusing the President of acting as a ‘luxury tourist,’ alleging that he prioritizes international travel and meetings with foreign leaders over visiting the country to understand the needs and suffering of the Romanian people.

According to Dan Acibotăriță, the organization's coordinator, the President's international travels are funded by the Romanian people. The group argues that effective leadership requires direct engagement with the nation, suggesting that the President prefers the comfort of the Cotroceni Palace over addressing domestic issues.
